But right after the Harriet angle is dropped like a stone, The Who,e story just ends. Second, the last part is about Stuart running away from home to find the bird Margalo, and it is on this quest he meets Harriet.

They do meet for a date, but Stuart’s plans don’t fully work out and even though Harriet tries to salvage things Stuart just dumps her and that adventure just ends, leaving the reader to wonder what the point was. First, Stuart there is a big set up for Stuart to meet up with another little person, a girl named Harriet. I found the last part of the book strange and startlingly abrupt. But this is a kid’s book, so I can let that go. White sometimes gives “reasonable” explanations for Stuart’s little things - such as ice skates made of paper clips and coins made of foil, but sometimes there is no explanation at all for things (a working car with gas engine for a mouse?!?). Most of the adventures would be enjoyable for kids (such as the sailing race on the pond). His book is for the most part a collection of mostly unrelated adventures that generally don’t build on each other. This is certainly a children’s book, and not quite like I remember. I remember enjoying this book tremendously as a child as I loved books about small human-like animals. It’s implied that Margalo has a crush on Stuart.Okay collection of adventures with abrupt ending.When being introduced to Margalo, Snowbell tried to warn Stuart on his decision to let her say, questioning him on how he didn't know she was a 'vagrant or a thief', the latter which he assumed correctly, as revealed later on when Margalo steals Mrs.Margalo is sometimes thought to be the deuteragonist of the film.Despite being the main catalyst of the novel, Margalo is completely absent from the original film, which instead focuses on Stuart looking for his real parents and Snowbell plotting to get rid of him.She wears a blue scarf, which again is very small around her neck, that is knotted but has two waist length strands hanging out. She has extremely small goggles, clear on her head on top of her main hat. On the bottom of this main hat, there are two tiny silver hoops. She has a red yarn one smaller under her hat. It has two straps loose on the sides and it is chest length. She wears a jet pilot’s helmet on which is covering the top and back of her head. In the movie, Margalo has golden orange feathers with a white stomach and shiny darker shade of orange nose. In the book, Margalo was brown with a streak of yellow on her breast. She is also very sweet, cute, friendly, kind, lovely, brave, nice and smart, but like Stuart, can be very energetic and just wants to play and have fun.
